My history
I grew up England, in the market town of Knaresborough in North Yorkshire. I went to university in Liverpool and studied Business Information Systems.
In 1995 I moved to Scotland and spent 12 years living in Edinburgh. Then in 2007 I moved again to Ireland, and settled in Dublin.
I am married to Louise, and have two Jack Russell Terrier dogs.
Do you know me? If so please do get in contact to say hello!
Work History
I started out my career as a Software Developer for a number of years before transitioning to become a Business Analyst. I liked the idea of bringing more clarity to the documentation of systems requirements, and being an effective communication bridge between business stakeholders and the development team.
In 2015 I moved from waterfall into Agile development and started working as a Product Owner, embedded in agile teams to own and prioritise the product backlog. In 2017 I became certified as a SAFe Agile Product Owner / Product Manager. I now help coach and train colleagues in agile development practise.
Outside of work
I’m a semi-professional classical singer. Between 2007 and 2015 I was a tenor Lay Vicar Choral in Christ Church Cathedral. I now sing in the church choir of St Ann’s Dawson Street.
In addition to choral music, I have a keen interest in technology and gadgets. I’m also a bit of a cycling advocate, and use my bike as my main source of transportation.
